Welcome to the Chilcotin Ministry of Forests and Range
The Chilcotin Forest District includes the majority of
the Chilcotin Plateau and a portion of the Coast Mountain Range. The
total area is 28,3202 km's, which is almost the size of Vancouver
Island.
The Chilcotin Forest District employs a
staff of approximately 30 people. About 1/2 of the staff are local
residents of Alexis Creek and the surrounding area, 1/4 of the staff
rent accommodations in Alexis Creek and the remaining 1/4 of the staff
commutes from Williams Lake.
